Chapter Twelve
That night when AJ got home all three of them were watching TV.
*AJ I was uhm, gonna go over to Brian's tonight. He wants me to help him with this girl problem he has cuz he was here today.* Meg said looking at AJ and trying to look normal.
*Yeah, uncle Brian was here!* Alex said happily and AJ smiled.
*Yeah okay, you could use some time off anyway. I'll stay home with Alex.* AJ said and Meg smiled at him and kissed him softly. At about 8 Meg left for Brian's house and when she got there she sat in her car for a long moment, debating on whether or not to go in.
~You're just gonna get this over with so he'll leave you alone.~ She said to herself and got out of the car. She had dressed as plainly as she could in dark jeans and a white t-shirt with a sweater over it. *Hey.* She said as Brian opened the door and he smiled, letting her in. She was very familiar with his house because she had been to all their houses plenty of times.
*Are you hungry?* Brian asked and she said yes. *I made some food. I'm so proud of myself.* He said and Meg laughed a little at him. They walked into the dining room and sat at the table and started to eat in silence.
*Brian this is really weird.* Meg finally said.
*Well don't be so uptight. You're just having dinner with me, it's okay. It's not a crime.* Brian explained and Meg smiled, seeing his point. By the end of dinner they were laughing and smiling and drinking wine on the couch, sitting a little too close.
*Ow...* Meg whispered as she rubbed her neck.
*Here,* Brian said putting his and her glass down and then he climbed behind her and started rubbing her neck. *What's wrong with your neck?* He asked as he rubbed down her shoulders and back, very slowly.
*Uh... it just hurts.* Meg said feeling uncomfortable but at the same time she was happy. She felt Brian's fingers at the edge of her shirt and she stopped him.
*I was just gonna take it off, trust me it feels much better okay?* Brian said leaning over to look into her eyes. She agreed and he took the shirt off and then she laid on her stomach on the couch and he sat on her legs, massaging all over her back and shoulders and sides.
*Mmm... that feels so good.* Meg said smiling as she closed her eyes. Brian continued for a little while and when he was done Meg sat up and he looked at her. He put his hand on her face and played with her hair and then he kissed her and she didn't stop him. He pushed her back on the couch and laid on top of her, kissing her deep and passionate. His hands roamed over her stomach and breasts and he rested his hand on her left hip. *No, Brian.* Meg said pushing his mouth away from hers.
*What baby?* Brian asked as he kissed her again. *Don't leave, I can show you so much more.* He begged as he continued to kiss her and she didn't move. She finally kissed him back and he undressed them both. She didn't want him looking at her like he loved her or anything so when he looked at her eyes she closed them. She felt him enter her and widened her eyes, not being able to believe what she was doing. In a way it felt good because she hadn't been with anyone but AJ in a really long time but she knew in her heart and head that this was a really big mistake. One that she could never take back. She loved AJ... what was she doing?
*Baby, I love you.* Brian said as he was thrusting into her.
*What?* Meg asked looking at him. *Get off me.* She said pushing him off of her and she started to get dressed. She had her panties, pants, and bra on before Brian stopped her.
*I really do love you.* He said taking her hand and she looked at him and then fell back on the couch, sighing.
*Brian, I love AJ. I can't do this with you... I can't believe I did this.* Meg said starting to cry. *He'll never forgive me and I need him... I have to go.* Meg said throwing her shirt on and running out the door to her car. She drove home in tears and when she pulled up in the driveway she looked at herself in the mirror, trying to make her tears unnoticeable. It was 11 and when she walked into the house and up to her and AJ's room she saw that he was asleep and then into Alex's room and saw that he was asleep too. She started to cry as she stared at AJ as he slept, thinking about how good he was to her and how much of a fuck up she was. She took some blankets and a pillow from the hall closet and fell asleep on the couch.
*Baby baby...* AJ said shaking her softly. *Why are you sleeping on the couch?* He asked her as she opened her eyes a little bit. She couldn't look at him so she rolled over and put her face in the couch pillows. *What's wrong?* He asked because it was obvious that she had been crying.
*Nothing... leave me alone.* Meg said with her face still in the couch.
*No I won't leave you alone.* AJ said offended. *Tell me what's wrong right now.* He demanded.
*AJ!* Meg said sitting up and looking at him. *I'm sorry...* She said. She wanted to tell him about her and Brian but she couldn't bare to even think of the look of hurt and betrayal on his face when she told him. All she wanted was to take it back. *AJ I love you but I have to go.* Meg said getting up off the couch and walking up to their room.
*What do you mean you have to go?* AJ asked looking panicked.
*I just need to leave for a little while... I don't know what I'm doing and I can't be here with you.* Meg said crying as she pulled a bag from under the bed and started to pack her things.
*What the fuck??* AJ said totally not understanding anything. *What did I do? Please tell me so I can fix it. Don't leave me.* AJ said walking up to her and she started crying even harder.
*It's not you okay?* She said. She didn't want him feeling responsible. *Meagan, what the hell is going on?* AJ asked in a soft tone but he grabbed her bag from the bed.
*AJ just let me go. It'll be better for both of us if I just leave.* She said taking the bag back and putting the rest of the stuff in it that would fit. She threw her bag to the bottom of the stairs and then walked into Alex's room with AJ right behind her. *Baby mommy has to go now, but I'll be back okay?* Meg asked sitting on the side of his bed.
*Where are you going?* Alex asked and Meg looked up at AJ.
*I made a mistake baby and I just need to go away for a little while. I'll be back and I'll call you tonight okay sweetie?* Meg asked leaning forward to kiss his forehead and he clung to her. *I love you.* She said with his head on her shoulder as she started to cry. AJ was just watching them, not knowing what was going on and thinking how fast this all happened.
*I love you too mommy.* Alex said and Meg put him back down, wiping her eyes.
~A mistake? What kind of mistake?~ AJ thought to himself as Meg walked downstairs.
*Meagan, I won't let you leave until you tell me what's going on??* AJ demanded as he stood in front of her.
*I love you. I love you so much AJ that you can't even begin to imagine how I'm feeling right now. I can't be here right now, not for me but for you. I have to go.* Meg said putting her hands on his face and looking into his eyes.
*You can't leave. What will I do without you?* AJ asked with a tear running down his cheek.
*I love you,* She said kissing his lips softly. *I'll call.* Meg added as she picked her bag up and walked out the front door and to her car. AJ watched as she drove away and then shut the door, not knowing what happened and trying to figure it out.
