*AJ.* Meg said shocked. She put her things down, her hands shaking and looked back up at AJ. *Miguel, this is--.*
*Where have you been?* AJ asked in a hurtful tone.
*I was... we went dancing.* Meg said. There were a million things running through her head. ~Was he going to leave her because he thought she cheated? Did she cheat on him? What about Alex?~
*Who the fuck are you?* AJ asked standing up.
*AJ, he's just a friend.* Meg said walking to stand in between him and Miguel to avoid a fight.
*You better get outta my house before somethin bad happens to you.* AJ threatened. Miguel just looked at him and then to Meg.
*Meg I had a great time. We should do it again.* Miguel said and Meg smiled weakly and hustled him out of the door.
*What the hell is wrong with you?!* AJ yelled once he was gone.
*Shh... Alex is sleeping. And nothing's wrong with me. You're the one who isn't supposed to be home for another two months.* Meg said and immediately regretted the way she had said that.
*Oh, so what, you didn't want me to catch you or something?* AJ yelled not caring how loud he was.
*Catch me AJ?! Catch me doing what? We went dancing... we came home...* Meg yelled. *What do you expect from me? When you leave for months at a time? You want me to play housewife for my whole fuckin life?? This isn't fair... this isn't what I wanted... I want a life!!* She yelled, crying.
*Are you fucking him?* AJ asked and Meg looked at him coldly.
*Fuck you,* She said low and ran up the stairs to their room. About 30 minutes later AJ knocked on the door and opened it slightly.
*What do you want?* Meg asked.
*Look Meagan...* AJ said staring at her and thinking how much he loved her and how much he hoped she wasn't cheating on him because he wanted to be with her forever. *I'm sorry I yelled...*
*Why don't you trust me?* Meg asked crying. *I love you with all my heart and no matter how far you are from me and no matter how long I would never cheat on you.* Meg explained sitting up in the bed and he could tell she had been crying from her red eyes. *I know you must hate me and I'm so sorry... I just I missed you and I know it's not a good enough excuse but I can't sit at home with Alex for a year while you're gone. I just miss you even more every time I look at him.* Meg explained as AJ walked over to her and sat down next to her on the bed.
*Baby, I just got jealous. I don't want to lose you.* AJ said, taking her hands. There was a silence for a while until AJ spoke up. *Did you really mean what you said? That this isn't what you want?* He asked her cautiously.
*Oh,* Meg said jumping into his arms. *AJ, I love you. I'll do anything to be with you... it's just I hate sitting at home not having a job or going to school. I get bored.* Meg explained with some tears still running down her cheeks.
*Shh baby,* AJ said pulling her close so she could cry into his shirt. *If you want when Alex starts school in the fall you could go back to school then.* He said and Meg looked up at him.
*You won't care?* Meg asked sincerely.
*Not at all, this isn't just about me. A marriage is about both people and I want you to be just as happy as I am. Because I'm as happy as I've ever been and I never want to lose you, ever.* AJ explained. *I don't want you to leave me because you're not happy. You just have to tell me these things... don't hold them inside...* He said as he leaned down and kissed her lips softly and Meg started to calm down.
*Thank you.* Meg whispered.
*I don't want you to see him again.* AJ said half serious and half joking and Meg smiled at him.
*Don't worry, I only need you.* She replied and they kissed and laid down together. *When do you leave again?* She asked after a little bit.
*A week,* AJ said kissing her. He undressed down to his boxers and got back into bed next to Meagan. He held her hand and pulled her close.
*What happened to the babysitter?* Meg asked and AJ laughed as they laid in the dark.
*I sent her home.* He replied and they both fell asleep.
The Next Day
Meg had gotten up early that morning because of Alex and she was making something to eat while AJ took a shower.
*Hey,* AJ said walking by Meg and spinning her around and then sitting at the table next to Alex. Alex laughed and AJ blew her a kiss. *So what do you want to do today buddy?* AJ asked.
*I wanna go swimming!* Alex yelled clapping his hands and AJ laughed.
*You wanna go to the beach?* AJ asked smiling. Alex shook his head yes. AJ leaned into Alex's ear. *Do you think we should bring mommy?* AJ whispered and Meg laughed. AJ looked at Meg and then smiled. He walked over to her and put his hands on her waist. *We have to bring her because,* AJ said kissing her quickly. *I haven't seen your mom in a bathing suit in a long time.* He said and Meg smiled.
*You do not want to see my stomach. No one wants to see a woman's stomach after she's had a baby.* Meg said putting her face in AJ's neck. Alex was just watching them as they talked.
*I love you.* AJ said kissing her and Meg sighed, kissing him back.
*I love you too.* Meg said as AJ pulled away. *No, don't stop.* She said laughing and kissed him again as he laughed against her mouth. AJ brought Alex upstairs and got him changed and then they got ready to go to the beach. Meg tanned while Alex and AJ swam and then she swam with them for a little bit. They dried off and decided to get going and AJ got Alex some ice cream and of course Alex made a mess in AJ's baby or his car. Of course, AJ flipped out and when they got home Meg played some video games with Alex while AJ washed his car, outside and in. Brian and Nick pulled up in AJ's driveway and saw him washing his car.
*Sup bro?* Nick asked getting out of the car and jumping around.
*Alex got ice cream on my backseat.* AJ said almost pouting and Nick and Brian busted out laughing.
*Dude, it's not funny.* AJ said seriously and they laughed at him more. *Hey if you guys loved me you'd babysit Friday for me.* AJ said smiling and trying to look as angelic as he could.
*But we're all leaving Saturday.* Brian said.
*Yeah, we don't want to babysit.* Nick added in a whine.
*Come on, you guys are my best friends. I want to do something special for Meg.* AJ begged. They both gave him unsure looks. *Alright listen, after Alex is asleep you can each have a girl over, but you can't be loud.* AJ said. *Pleeeease?* He begged, getting frustrated.
*Okay,* Brian and Nick said simultaneously, shrugging their shoulders.
*Thanks guys!* AJ said excitedly and they had to laugh at him. Nick, Brian, and AJ all went inside and talked for a little bit.
*Hey guys,* Meg said walking down the stairs.
*Hey baby.* AJ said as she leaned down to kiss him and then sat in a chair. *Where's Alex?* He asked.
*He was so tired from today that he fell asleep while we were playing video games.* Meg said. *So what are you guys up to?*
*Well we wanted to take AJ off your hands tonight, if that's okay?* Brian asked and Meg laughed.
*Take him,* She said sighing and AJ looked at her. *I love you.* She said and they all laughed except AJ. *Where are you going?*
*Out to a club with some friends.* Nick explained.
*I'm gonna take a shower and then we can go.* AJ said to Nick and Brian and he went upstairs to get ready while Meg, Nick, and Brian talked until he came back downstairs. He walked downstairs in some sneakers, a pair of baggy dark jeans, a white beater with an unbuttoned dark gray shirt over it, and a white baseball hat. Meg walked up to him and hugged him.
*Mmm, you smell good.* She said putting her hand on the back of his neck. *You look good too.*
*Thanks, I'll be late so don't wait up.* AJ said kissing her. *I love you.* He whispered against her lips.
*I love you too.* She whispered and he squeezed her hand before leaving with Nick and Brian.
