After the Shower
They both got dressed and went downstairs to cuddle and watch some TV.
*Mmm...* Meg said snuggling close to AJ. *You're like a pillow.* She said and poked him and they both laughed.
*Thank you.* AJ said sarcastically.
*Me and Alex are gonna miss you a lot you know?* Meg said sighing.
*Babe, believe it or not, as much as you and Alex miss me, I miss you more. At least you have him.* AJ said playing with her lips.
*Yeah, I guess.* Meg said sighing. *Do you ever wonder how we got here?* She asked.
*What do you mean?* AJ asked looking at her.
*I mean four years ago I thought I'd never see you again and now look at us.* Meg explained.
*Married and we have a son.* AJ replied.
*I dont regret it, do you?* Meg asked.
*Not one thing...* AJ said. *Well maybe one thing...* He said and Meg looked at him, waiting for him to tell her. *Just the fact that I left you for 2 years... that was pretty bad.* He said smiling at her.
*I'm really happy you came back to the lake.* Meg said and kissed him softly. *If you hadn't I'd either still be living with my parents or I'd be dating some guy that I don't love.* She said smiling at him. *I just love you.*
*I love you.* AJ said and they kissed again. After about an hour they got up and drove to Brian's.
*Hey little man!* AJ yelled as Alex ran up to him and jumped in AJ's arms.
*How was he?* Meg asked.
*Better then AJ has ever been.* Brian said and laughed when AJ looked at him furiously. *You guys made the cutest kid ever.* Brian said smiling and Meg looked at AJ who was playing with Alex.
*So I guess we better go.* Meg said picking Alex up. *I love you.* She said to AJ.
*Love you,* He said and kissed Meg. *Love you too.* He said as he kissed Alex on the cheek and rubbed his hair. *Take care of your mom okay?* AJ said to him and Alex reached for his dad and as AJ held him Meg started to cry and looked at the floor, as she covered her eyes. She knew everyone was looking at her but she couldn't help it. *I'll miss you and I'll talk to you as soon as I can baby.* AJ said tucking a piece of hair behind Meg's ear as she put Alex on the floor.
*Bye,* Meg said looking at him through blurry eyes and kissed him one last time, softly and slowly. He held her for a long time and she didn't want to let go until she had to and then she left with Alex.
*I'm gonna miss your dad.* Meg said wiping her eyes as they sat at a stop sign.
*When's daddy coming back?* Alex asked with a toy in his hand.
*As soon as he can.* Meg said. *I have to stop at the store.* She said pulling into the parking lot. She got Alex out of the car and was pushing him around in the cart, goofing off and making him laugh.
*Excuse me, aren't you AJ McLeans wife?* A teenage girl said walking up to Meg and Meg smiled at her.
*Yep,* She said to her and the girl grinned.
*Oh my god, hi!* She said happily. They talked for a while and then she left after Meg signed a card for her. On Meg's way out she was focusing on Alex and didn't even see the person who walked up to her. Some guy said something to her in Spanish and Meg turned around and looked him over.
*Excuse me?* She said with attitude.
*Oh no, I'm sorry. You're just so beautiful.* The now very cute Hispanic man said to her. She couldn't help but feel special.
*Do I know you?* Meg asked him.
*No, I just saw you and I had to have you.* He said and Meg laughed. *What's your name?* She asked crossing her arms in front of her.
*Miguel.* He replied.
*Well Miguel, would you like to know what comes with me?* Meg asked and he looked at her. *Alex,* She said and picked Alex up from beside her.
*He's cute.* Miguel said touching the little boys nose softly. *So can I have your number or something?* He asked reaching out to touch Meg but she backed off.
*I don't think so,* Meg said with a smile and he pleaded with her. *Look Miguel, I'm married.* She said trying to get her point across. In a way, she sort of felt special. It's not that she wasn't happy with AJ or that she didn't love him it's just she had been with him for two years and she was only 20 and it made her feel young to have some random guy hitting on her.
*Whoa, I never said anything like that. I didn't mean to give you the wrong impression... just friends.* Miguel said and Meg smiled. They talked for a little longer and Meg eventually gave him her number and then left with Alex. When they got home she cleaned a little, fed Alex and before she knew it the phone was ringing.
*Hello?* Meg answered anxiously, hoping it would be AJ.
*Hey baby,* AJ said and Meg smiled happily. *I love you.* He said right away and it all of a sudden made her feel incredibly guilty and selfish for giving Miguel her number. Did she ever stop to think about what AJ felt like? He was this famous sex symbol male who had girls around him every day and he still loved her more then anything.
*I love you too.* Meg replied smiling.
*How are you?* He asked, curious to know how her and his son were.
*Lonely,* She said pouting. *But pretty good I guess.*
*Yeah me too. How's my boy?* AJ asked.
*He's fine, watching TV.* Meg said looking at Alex from the kitchen.
*Well babe, I was just checkin in. We're about to get on the bus, I'll call you tomorrow.* AJ said.
*Okay, love you.* Meg replied.
*Love you too.* AJ said and then hung up. As soon as Meg hung up the phone rang again.
*Meagan?* An unfamiliar voice said.
*Hi.* She replied waiting for them to say who they were.
*It's Miguel.*
*Oh, hi. What's up?* Meg asked sighing and sitting next to Alex on the couch.
*Not much, what are you doing tonight?* He asked her.
*Well I have to be here to watch Alex.* Meg replied in a questioning tone.
*Get a babysitter.* He said.
*Why?* Meg asked laughing.
*Cuz I want to do something with you, duh.* He said jokingly. Meg tried to make plans with him for another night that week because it was too short notice for her but they ended up not going out until two weeks later. He decided to take her dancing and she told him to pick her up at 9 and gave him directions.
*I'll be ready in one minute.* Meg said inviting him in and she went back over to the babysitter. *Anyway, he's already in bed so you don't really have to do anything. Just don't leave and no parties.* Meg said and the girl laughed. *As always, help yourself to anything in the kitchen and feel free to fall asleep, I'll probably be pretty late.* Meg explained to the babysitter and then she and Miguel walked out of the house together.
*You look good.* Miguel said looking her up and down.
*Thank you.* Meg said smiling. *So how old are you anyway? You have a baby face.* Meg said and he laughed.
*Thanks, just what I want to hear to boost my self confidence.* Miguel said and they laughed. *I'm 18.*
*I'm 20.* Meg said smiling. They drove to the club and walked inside and started dancing. Miguel watched Meg as she shook her hips and grinded against him, thinking to himself how sexy she was. He leaned in to kiss her once but she pushed him away, smiling and danced some more. They stayed out pretty late and by the time they were ready to go it was 2 in the morning. It reminded her a lot of her date with AJ when he came back and it made her so sad. She thought what she would feel like if she were in AJ's shoes and he was doing this.
*I had a good time.* Meg said as he walked her to her doorstep.
*Me too...* He said leaning in to kiss her.
*Married.* Meg reminded him as she pushed him away.
*I know I know, sorry.* Miguel apologized.
*Would you like to come in for a drink?* Meg asked and he accepted. As they walked through the front door laughing, Meg looked up to see AJ on their couch staring at her.
