I woke up early that morning because I thought I had to work but when I called to ask if they needed me in earlier they said I wasn't even on the schedule. I was so mad because the night before I had stayed up late and I could've slept in but now I couldn't. I looked out the window and saw that it was starting to rain and by nine o'clock it was practically pouring. I was still in my pajamas when someone knocked on the door so I got up to answer it.
*Uh, hi.* I said feeling very uncomfortable as I stared at Alex. *Oh, come in!* I said finally when I noticed he was getting soaking wet. I stood in the mudroom with him for a minute while he shook off some of the rain. *What's up?* I asked, not really sure why he was there. I crossed my arms over my chest when I remembered I didn't have a bra on and smiled at him.
*I was just curious if you'd like to go out? We can't work cuz of the rain...* He explained and I kinda smiled as I looked at him. Here was this hot guy asking me out, I don't even know why I was hesitating.
*Sure... I have to take a shower and stuff.* I told him as we walked into the kitchen and he smiled at me. *You can watch TV if you wanna wait?* I suggested and he walked into the sunroom and sat on the couch and then looked up at me. *I'll be quick.* I added as I sped around the corner and into the bathroom. After my shower I got dressed in some black capris and a baby pink tank top and then I brushed my hair and teeth and did my make up and everything else.
*What did you want to do?* I asked him as I sat on the couch next to him and he just looked at me. He had a thing with staring, I could tell.
*Anything...* He replied so we stood up and walked out to my car. *I feel bad that we have to take your car, I asked you out, we should take mine. It's just that I live kinda far from here...* Alex explained and I just laughed at him and told him not to worry about it. It was a pretty hot day so we decided to go to the mall where there was air conditioning.
*I don't know why they aren't at the beach.* I commented and he agreed as we walked through the crowds of people in the mall.
*That's the only thing I hate about this place.* He told me.
*Me too they are so dumb.* I replied quietly, I didn't want to offend anyone in front of or behind us. Walking around was actually a good thing for me and AJ because we talked a lot and we got to know each other. We hung around for a while, just making scenes and causing trouble in stores and then we got some food together and talked some more. We went into Suncoast, the movie store and he ended up buying me Monsters Inc.
*You didn't have to do that ya know...* I said again and looked at him shyly as we walked out and he laughed.
*Don't worry, I wanted to!* He reassured me for the millionth time. *Is that movie any good?* He asked and I laughed.
*We should watch it! I love it, it's so good.* I told him and he smiled at me. We left the mall and went back to my house to watch the movie but my brother and sister were home and in the sunroom watching TV so we couldn't use the DVD player.
*We'll take a rain check even though it's raining and... okay I'm confused... but you know what I mean.* Alex said to me and I laughed at him. *Tomorrow night maybe?* He asked me and I said sure and thanked him for keeping me company, even if it was only for two hours. He left and I watched him out the bay window at the front of my house as he got soaking wet, walking back over to the vans at the house he was working on.
The next day I went to work but that night he came over to my front door at around 7:30, when it started getting dark and they had to stop working, and my mom answered the door and yelled for me.
*Hey,* I said as she let him in and we smiled at each other. *Ma, this is Alex.* I introduced them and they shook hands.
*Would you like to stay for dinner?* She asked him and he looked at me and then nodded yes and thanked her.
*We'll be in my room, okay?* I asked her and we walked down the hall and into my room. *Sorry, it's kinda messy...* I said as I picked some clothes up off the floor and threw them in the laundry basket.
*You have an awesome room.* He told me and I laughed. It was painted bright yellow with purple spots... a phase I was going through when I was about 14 or 15 and I just hadn't painted over it yet.
*Thanks.* I said and he laughed. We ate dinner by ourselves because my family doesn't ever eat at the kitchen table and then we watched the movie at about nine when my family was in their rooms. We got comfy on the couch together and watched the movie until about 11, a little before and then sat there and talked. *Want me to drive you home?* I asked him and he smiled and said yes. He didn't talk much but I really liked that about him. Because what he said usually meant something. I didn't end up driving him home, I drove him to his friend's house that he was staying at because he didn't live around here. He was just here for the work.
*You're a really sweet girl...* Alex said to me and I smiled at him and thanked him. He leaned in and kissed my lips softly and then harder until he finally pulled away. That was the best kiss of my life... I thought as I looked at him sweetly. I'm glad I wasn't standing up because my knees felt weak and I was sure I wouldn't be able to walk for at least 20 minutes. He leaned in and kissed me softly again and then got out of the car and walked up the lawn to the front door.
