Meagan went home with Tasha that night and they talked for a while.
*So who's this dude you've been gettin it on with??* Meg asked as they sat on the couch in the living room and watched TV.
*Nick introduced us. It's his cousin? Or something like that.* Tasha explained with a grin on her face. *His name is Garrett and he's really sweet!*
*So you have been getting it on!!* Meg yelled excitedly and Tasha laughed hard at her and nodded.
*What about you and AJ? Any old sparks flyin?* Tasha replied with her question.
*Nah... he has a girlfriend.* Meg said, the disappointment evident in her voice, as she looked at the pillow she was holding.
*Meg I saw the way he looks at you... don't worry.* Tasha winked at her and Meg laughed.
*Yeah, but Brian asked me out. Oh damn!* Meg said remembering something and Tasha jumped. *I got that job!* Meg exclaimed and Tasha screamed. *She left a message on the phone while I was out bowling and I got it!! I'm so happy... so that means I'm going on tour with the guys. So I was kinda hoping that you'd be able to handle this apartment by yourself cuz I don't wanna lose it??* Meg asked timidly and Tasha screamed again.
*This is so perfect! I was going to ask you if Garrett could stay with us for a while but if you're gonna be gone for a while he can help with the rent and stuff!* Tasha explained and Meg jumped on the couch happily and hugged Tasha.
The Next Morning
Meg spent the entire day packing up all her things and calling her family and friends to let them know where she would be. At about seven she changed into some clean jeans and a pink three-quarter sleeved shirt.
*Hey,* Meg said once she got up to Brian's room at the hotel and he smiled at her as he let her in and gave her a hug.
*Bad news... they won't let us leave. They said there's been way too many people around and they want us to stay here tonight.* Brian explained as they both walked into the kitchen. *So I thought we could watch a movie or something?* He suggested, not wanting her to be disappointed and Meg smiled at him.
*That's good, I spent all day cleaning and packing and I really don't feel like going out.* She admitted and he smiled.
*Okay, let's go.* He told her and grabbed her hand and they walked out his door.
*Wait, but I thought... huh??* Meg asked as he dragged her down the hall and laughed at her.
*We're gonna watch the movie with AJ and Cate.* Brian said and Meg's face fell.
~I can't watch a movie with Brian while AJ's in the room... I don't even want to see him and his girl together.~ Meg thought to herself but luckily Brian was looking ahead of him so he didn't see her expression. It had been really quiet in AJ's room since Meg and Brian had showed up and AJ kept looking at her weird. Him and Cate were in the chair next to the couch that Meg and Brian were on as they all watched Moulin Rouge. Meg had made them watch it because it was one of her favorite movies.
*AJ I don't like this movie. Can't we go into the bedroom or something?* Cate asked AJ quietly and Meg looked over to them.
*I like it...* He protested softly and she sulked and reluctantly turned her head back towards the TV. After the movie, which seemed excruciatingly long, Meg and Brian went back to his hotel room and stood in the kitchen with Brian sitting and Meg standing in front of him.
*Did you like the movie?* Meg asked him smiling and he smiled back as he nodded and pulled her to stand in between his legs so their faces were close. He leaned up and kissed her lips softly but after only a few seconds Meg pulled away and stepped back. *I'm sorry I can't...* She said running a hand through her hair and fidgeting with her fingers.
*Why not?* Brian asked standing so he was face to face with her.
*I still have feelings for AJ... I knew him before I ever met you and we... well whatever. I just don't want to hurt you.* Meg explained to him and he smiled at her. *I hope you're not mad...* She added timidly and he shook his head.
*No, I'm glad you told me before though cuz I definitely could have fallen for you.* He explained and Meg laughed along with him.
*Thank you for understanding.* She said as she wrapped her arms around his broad shoulders and hugged him tight. *I'll see you in the morning, bright and early.* Meg explained and he smiled at her and walked her to the door, saying goodnight. The next morning Meg was picked up at her apartment in a limousine with all her luggage and brought to the airport. She boarded the plane early and sat by herself in the almost empty plane. They had first class and she had no idea it was going to be the way it was. They served champagne and full meals and each seat had a TV in front of it. She pushed her seat back and shut her eyes, listening to the bustling of the stewardesses.
*Hey.* A female voice said and Meg sat up quickly and opened her eyes wide. *Oh I didn't mean to scare you, I'm sorry.* She said and Meg looked over to the seat next to her and saw Cate. *AJ said you were really cool and we should be friends since we're like the only girls here besides those crappy manager people. They suck.* Cate explained and all Meg could think of was that she was working for them so somehow Cate was talking about her specifically.
*Yeah,* Meg said smiling as she fixed her seat. The plane ride was actually only two hours but it seemed like an eternity because all Cate did was talk and talk and talk some more. When they started leaving the plane Meg didn't realize she could be that happy and once she was off she took a deep breath and smiled to herself.
*Don't like flying?* Nick asked Meg as he put a hand on her back and she looked at him.
*Oh... yeah...* She lied and he smiled.
*Better get used to it.* He explained as they walked to cars outside.
*But what about my bags?* Meg asked as she went to turn around.
*Yeah okay, you're an obvious beginner. They carry our bags for us.* Nick said slowly so she could understand and Meg laughed and hit him. *We're gonna get some dinner when we all get home, you joining us?* He asked as he held open the door of the limo for her and she smiled and thanked him as she slid in.
*I guess... I don't know. I don't know anything.* She explained and he smiled and put his arm around her. The limo dropped her off at the hotel she was staying at and Nick helped her carry her bags into the lobby.
*I'll call your cell phone about dinner.* Nick said to her as he set her bags down.
*My what?* Meg asked. *I don't have a cell phone...* She said as Nick started to walk away.
*Yes, you do.* He said and smiled as he passed Kerry walking out. Meg was still confused as Kerry walked up to her and waited for Meg to notice.
*What's wrong?* Kerry asked and Meg looked up at her.
*Oh, Nick was just trying to tell me I had a cell phone. I think I'd know, right?* Meg said jokingly to her and Kerry fished around in her purse and pulled out a silver Verizon flip phone and handed it to Meg. *Uh...* Meg said and when she looked up from the phone Kerry was already walking out.
*I need to keep in touch with you. We'll talk to tomorrow.* Kerry said and Meg smiled slightly at her and then looked at the phone in her hand. Once it all sank in she shrieked happily. A bellboy helped her with her bags and she went up to her room and tried to find something to wear to dinner. She heard something ringing and picked up the room phone but laughed as she realized it was the cell phone.
*What took you so long?!* She heard AJ's voice on the other end and she smiled at the thought of his beautiful face.
*I didn't know what was ringing. I've never had a cell phone before, bare with me.* Meg explained and AJ smiled. *So what's up?*
*Nothin, are you coming to dinner with us?* AJ asked and Meg smiled and bit her lip.
*Yeah, where are you guys eating?* Meg asked him as she started to get undressed. *Ugh, it's soooo hot here. I hate it.* She complained and AJ laughed.
*You'll live. And we'll come pick you up at eight okay?* AJ asked and Meg thought about Cate and shrugged to herself as she picked through her clothes to try and find a shirt.
*Kay, bubye.* She said and then they hung up. Meg ended up wearing a light green t-shirt that tied in the front, a darker green long skirt that had beaded designs on the front, and tan sandals.
